Overview

Royal Holloway is a member of the University of London and was originally founded in 1879, before gaining full university status in 1985. 9,000 students are currently enrolled from over 100 countries and the University is made up of 19 departments spanning arts and humanities, sciences, social sciences, management and economics.

Royal Holloway has a strong academic reputation, traditionally in the fields of Education and Humanities (the History department is traditionally one of the best in the UK), and is set across 135 acres of beautiful parkland.

Royal Holloway’s multi-million pound estate investment programme continues to enhance the campus, most recently with a new drama theatre - the Caryl Churchill Theatre - and further phases of award-winning student accommodation, plus refurbishment and extensions to a number of academic buildings and services.
